April 14, 2007

President, Les Armstrong called the April meeting of the Wyoming Prospectors to order at 3:15 p.m. held at the Miners Grubstake.

Introductions were made as there were several new faces present.

There were 4 boards members and no alternate present.

Secretary, Kimberlee Raymond read the minutes from the March meeting.  As there were no corrections, motions were made and carried to accept minutes as read.

Treasurer, Deb Palmer read treasurers report. Noting bills paid and deposits made.  Motions were made and carried to accept report as read.

CORRESPONDENCE:

E-mails were read from a Boy Scout troop in Michigan wanting to watch a prospecting demonstration when they come to Wyoming in the summer.  We will see what transpires further as we are off their path depending on the route they take.

Also, the club has been invited to have a booth at the Sidney Gold Rush days on June 9th.  As that is a regular club meeting day, we have chose to opt out but would like to be considered in the future.

CLAIMS COMMITTEE:

No real news yet as it is still too early to get to most claims.  Jim Hinesley advised that he is currently working on a new claim that will be accessible to the club.  More news later.

RAFFLE COMMITTEE:

Going well to date,  keep selling.  June is coming up quickly.

OLD BUSINESS:

It was voted that Eugene Raymond head the project for the building of the gold bags for the Rock Hound show in June.

Hat and shirts have been decided.  We have found the best price in Rock Springs where Carl Anderson had them built last time.  Thanks Carl.

South Dakota:  After some research, we have found that hand sluicing and panning will be the only means of prospecting.  No motorized equipment allowed.  There is a group of people from the club going to this claim on May 5th and possibly the 6th.  Please join us if you can, the more people there the more ground that can be prospected.

Keith is still working on the upgrade of maps to the web site.

Paula distributed member identification cards to those present, and those who weren't there will see yours as you renew your club membership or if she sees you before then.

JUNE OUTING:

We are still getting everything together for the outing. The list for volunteers is as follows:
FOOD --Jackie Schmidt
TREASURE HUNT-- Rosemary Blair and Peggy Gress, with a little help from Les.
ICE-- Eugene and Joyce Raymond, Aaron and Kim Raymond
TOILETS-- Bill and Evelyn Willenbrecht and Dave and June Locker
SIGNS-- Keith and Rosemary Blair
COOKER -- Les Armstrong
DRINKS-- Bruce and Peggy Gress
TRASH-- Deb and Murph Palmer and Perry and Charlotte Dobyns

We still need volunteers for getting the dirt from Yankee Gulch and other dirt for prospecting.  As well as getting the club trailer to the outing.

NEW BUSINESS:

Riverton Day in the park was the only thing on the agenda.  As there again was no interest shown, will we again pass on this invitation.

Next meeting to be hold May 12, 2007 at the MIners Grubstake at 5:00 P.M.  We will have a mini outing at Oregon Butte.  Meet at the Sweetwater rest area at 8:30 a.m. Please bring your own lunches and remember the weather can change at any moment!!!!

Meeting adjourned at 4:15 p.m.

50/50 RAFFLE:  Congratulations to Charlotte Dobyns.
